New units

I haven't played Advance Wars Dual Strike and AW Days of Ruin.
So some units in AWBW are new to me.
I understand about Stealth and Black bomb but don't understand about Carrier and Black boat.
Could someone explain what they are?
I especially wonder why people buy Lander when they can buy Black boat for 7500.
The both units can carry other units and As far as I know Black boat can repair other units.
Why do you need Lander???

The reason people still buy landers is that black boats can only transport infantry and mechs. If you want to transport vehicles only the lander can do that.

And a carrier is basically the sea version of a missile unit, with a ridiculous range (3-8 i think, something like that). Also, it can act as a "transport" of air units, and refuels them when you dock them on it.

Don't forget that blackboats can repair 1 hp and supply a unit a turn.

These days, black boats are used more often than landers due to the cost more than anything else. However, this does not count the lander out entirely. There are plenty of cases where landers might be better for one of several reasons, ranging from the need of the ability to drop a heavy attacking force onto shore to the mere fact that is has more fuel to being a universal unit jump point due to awbw's loading and drop off rules.
